Today was a day of recovery. We have been waylaid by coughs, sore throats, and the croup for a week now. Hopefully, (oh, I really do hope) we are on the mend. However, Candlemas is too lovely to pass unnoticed. We began our little celebration with a presentation on the Presentation. Sweet little Simeon and Anna proclaim that Jesus is "a light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory for your people Israel."
The little girls reenacted the story for themselves and for daddy at dinnertime.
Candlemas would not be complete without a "A Light Dessert." Catholic Cuisine is such a wonderful resource for our celebrations. The children love making the candle cookies every year.
Finally, we feasted in candle light. The children hunted down every candle we own so that dinner could be truly magical. And it was.
